    • During the design phase, the design team lived in the Cambodian rural countryside for 4 months and used an participatory approach to develop the product
    • Rural people need a portable lamp. Different rooms are to be lit during the evening hours, and most consumers cannot afford more than one lamp. Furthermore, a dimmed light during the entire night was needed, to orientate in the dark and to feel safe at night
    • The rural households selected the final design from 4 concepts
